Addie is four!

Addie woke up on her birthday and announced, "I am four, so now I can run faster, bike farther, and I am taller, more pretty, and smarter!" It is amazing what happens overnight! Most of Addie's friends have already turned four, so she has been anxiously waiting her turn to be a big, BIG girl.
Grandma Cindy came in to town to help Addie celebrate her birthday. Grandpa Bill's flight got cancelled in san francisco for some odd reason, so he wasn't able
to make it to the party. We were super sad about that!
We had Addie's party at Quail Park, which is near our house. Addie and 15 of her friends enjoyed playing at the park and eating all the delicious friend that grandma leslie brought to munch on.

The piƱata was a hit, literally! The kids loved trying to break it open and were very surprised when candy and bouncy balls fell out of it.

The butterfly cupcakes and snack bags that Addie and I made were also a hit!

Addie, you are the sweetest little girl and the best big sister! You bring so much laughter and enjoyment to our every day! We are so proud of you and love you so much!

90/40

Riley and leslie hosted a wonderful party in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary and GG's 90th birthday! Everything about the evening was perfect...the setting, the people, the delicious food, and the entertainment! Bob (GG) amazes me every day. He drove himself to his 90th birthday celebration! Although he has slowed down, he is still full of life and loves each day to the fullest!

Addie wanted to sit right next to GG during dinner so there was no way she could miss cake and ice cream! She even helped him blow out the candles.

As for Riley and Leslie, what an inspiration they are! They are still so in love and enjoy every moment of life together. They have surrounded themselves with a wonderful group of friends in central Oregon. There was so much love in the air that night!

Although I couldn't hear the speeches that were given, I am sure they were excellent. Caden was pushing around his lawn mower during this time.

We are so blessed to live near our wonderful McHugh/Larson family!

Anniversary camp trip

Ryan and I decided to take a family camp trip for our anniversary. With the truck loaded up and the kids strapped in, we headed up the cascade lakes highway to find a place to call home for two nights. Of course, there were no camp sites available at the first 3 lakes we came to. Luckily, a nice camp host gave us the inside scoop about a few available sites at Rock Creek. We scored a great site that was close to the lake. We explored the area, made some dinner and roasted marshmallows. All was good, until night time came! Addie had fallen down and scrapped her hands and knees pretty bad a few days prior to this trip. For some odd reason, she wouldn't put her hands inside her sleeping bag and they quickly got really, REALLY cold. She was sad about this and poor Caden was cold all over. He started out in the pack-n-play and ended up in my bag. I didn't sleep at all because I was cold and smushed! The next morning, Ryan told me that if he would have put the rainfly on the tent, we would have been a lot warmer! Lesson learned. Temps dropped into the low 40's...burr! Needless to say, we enjoyed the day, but headed home for a warm nights rest in the comfort of our own beds! Happy anniversary to us!

First day of school

Today was a memorable day! It was Caden's first day of preschool and Addie's second year of preschool. Addie was so excited to see her friends again, meet her new teachers, and see the newly transformed classroom. Caden didn't know what he signed himself up for! All summer long, he had to say goodbye to addie and me and go into his own classroom, but now I am his teacher!

Caden was beyond excited about this and to show it he was the class clown today! He purposefully would climb on the tables and push the chairs around and look at me with his silly grin. It was hard to refrain from laughing in order to discipline him. It might be an interesting year, but I am so thankful that Caden is in my classroom, even if he is the class clown!

Addie saw me after lunch and said "mom, I don't want to go home yet. Can I stay at school longer?" She loves school and was so happy to be back with all her friends!

Addie wouldn't stop long enough for me to take a picture.
