Churchill Visit

What a treat to have the Churchill's in town for Addie's birthday party, which just so happened to be on Hunter's birthday! Ryan and Hunter went Steelhead fishing on the lower Deschutes and each caught a big one! Katelyn and I ventured to Bend with the kiddos for a day of shopping and sight seeing. The girls played fairly well together given that they are TWO and Will is the best baby ever- so easy going and adorable!! We are so thankful to have such good friends....ones who are willing to drive 9 hours to come see us (with 2 small children)!!

Addie's 2nd Birthday Party

On Saturday, we had Addie's 2nd birthday party at Grandma and Grandad McHugh's house. Addie requested an easter egg hunt, which was a task to find easter eggs in the middle of September, but the kiddos loved it! The weather was gorgeous so we were able to spend the afternoon outside watching the kids run and play. Addie enjoyed having her friends over, especially Hannah and Will who traveled from Idaho for the special occasion! Happy Birthday, Addison...we love you!

Suttle Lake

Ryan, Leslie, Addie and I drove up to Suttle Lake (about 20 minutes north of Sisters) to marvel at the beautiful lake during sunset, eat a delicious dinner at the Boathouse restaurant, and gather some vine maples to decorate the house with. It was a perfectly still evening and we all enjoyed the crisp, fall air and the beautiful red-orange leaves. Addie laughed hysterically at Callie playing in the lake and loved exploring in the forest. Suttle Lake is on our list of places to explore next summer!

Addie

In a few short days Addie will be turning TWO! I decided to make a list of all the things she currently likes and dislikes, because they are known to change quite frequently.

Some of her favorite things in life include:
binky, blue, white aka her pacifier and two blankets
mommy and daddy
horses
puzzles
drawing
running fast
anything that is fast or high- she has a need for speed
ketchup
tomatoes with salt
red meat
lemon water
showering with daddy
callie
reading books
San Diego Zoo video

Some of her not-so-favorite things are:
sitting in her high chair
playing independently
having her hair brushed or fixed
being told "no"

We have enjoyed every moment of the last two years and look forward to all the years ahead.

Oregon Coast

We spent last weekend enjoying the beautiful weather on the Oregon coast. We stayed at the Agate Beach Motel just a few miles north of Newport and it was a fabulous location. The view from the porch was stunning and a perfect place to watch the sunset! Ryan was able to surf both days and Addie enjoyed playing on the beach. I had to take it easy- doctors orders, but I loved being in the fresh ocean air. We hope to get back to this spot again next year.

Our friends, Joy, Tyson, and Daphne, were also in Newport so we had a playdate on the beach! What a treat for the girls to run and play on the beach.

One step closer

Ryan is cleared to officially start work in Bend, so we are back in the game to look for houses in Bend. We are so excited to start our new life in Bend. Addie starts "school" on Tuesday at an in-house Montessori center. I am on the job hunt, now that I have completed my Master's degree!! Life is always new and exciting for us. We look forward to what the future has in store for us.

family reunion

The 2nd annual Wolden/Rentsch/Voors family reunion at Lake Almanor was a hit. All family members including spouses and children were able to attend for the whole weekend! We spent the day on the lake cruising in the patio boats, jet skiing and water skiing. Addie went on her first jet ski ride and loved it, especially going fast and chasing the ducks. She has a need for speed....go figure! Every evening we gathered at one of the houses for a scrumptious dinner and family fun. I cherish this time with my family and look forward to the gathering next August.
