on the go

Caden is officially crawling FORWARD and very quickly! It happened over night, but now that he is moving he is unstoppable! His little world has just become a whole lot bigger and more fun. He likes to open drawers, play with drawer handles, mess up Addie's "work", and chase Callie around the house. My world is different too. I have to be on the look out constantly for small objects on the floor that might enter Caden's mouth. Caden hates to have his diaper changed. He flips over and makes me dress him and change his diaper in a down dog yoga position. He grunts if you try to get him out of this position. He is a happy boy that loves life (and we love him so much)!

Other likes: Baby Mum Mum crackers, cheerios, all fruit and most veggies, splashing in the bath, and being outside. He is even starting to like his car seat...hallelujah!

Oh and he has 4 teeth now.

Third Birthday Bash

Addie turned THREE and to celebrate we had a bike parade party in the park. About 10 of Addie's friends came with their wheels that we decorated and then cruised around the neighborhood. The final destination was the park where the kids played with the parachute and ran around. Then there came the cake (a multi-hour to do, but it was worth it). Addie loves to tell people that she is three! My parents came up for the birthday weekend...thankfully!

Tiny Dancer

Addie started Ballet this week with her friend, Camryn. Their teacher, Marcelle, does an excellent job with all the 3-year-old dancers. Addie learned first position and a few new songs. There will be a recital in June....can't wait! This was the cutest thing that I have seen in a long time!

The Long Trip Home

Two weeks ago, we set out for quite the adventure-not really, but with 2 kids and one that screams in the car is was interesting. First stop was Reno for work, play, and family time. We managed to squeeze in several play dates, a Reno Aces game, some shopping, and lots of family time. Addie woke up at 4 am, ready to see Grandma and Grandpa so we got an early start and arrived at 3pm. She was so excited to do "makeup" with Grandma and puzzles with Grandpa that she couldn't go back to bed! The wild horses came by the house every night with three foals this year. Addie couldn't believe her eyes!

Next stop was San Francisco. We spent the first day at the SF Zoo, China town and a quick trip down Lombard St. We stayed with some of Ryan's friends from Boulder in Cortre Madera. What a treat for Ryan to see all of his college buddies with their wives and families. Times have changed for all of them since the frat boy days at UC Boulder!

Uncle Dan met up with us in SF and we caravaned to Sebastopol for Justine and Mike's wedding. Addie was the flower girl and she looked adorable in her dress and purple Converse sneakers. She was not afraid at all of walking down the aisle (no gummies needed this time). It was a breathtakingly beautiful venue overlooking acres and acres of vineyards. We didn't get to spend much time exploring everything (or anything) that Napa Valley has to offer, but we plan on making an adult only trip back in the near future.

All in all, we had a wonderful trip and we are so thankful for our amazing family and friends!

Six months and beyond

I can't believe that my baby is 6 months old already! He has the sweetest personality and loves to flirt with woman! When he smiles he shows off his two bottom teeth and that one adorable dimple. He sits up all by himself and is so close to crawling forward (right now he only goes backwards)! He can't get enough of food in any shape or form, but I have only introduced solid foods (finger foods to come). Sleeping is still a bit rocky because the second he hits the crib mattress he flips over, is up on all fours and crawling back into the corner of his crib. This makes him so mad that he cries and cries. If we flip him over he is back in that position within seconds. It is a losing battle for us. I am hopeful that our future holds more sleep and rest for the both of us. Until then, I am thankful for the bits of sleep I do get and for the happy baby I get to snuggle all day and night.
