Addie on sticks

We took Addie to Mt. Rose a few days before Christmas to let her explore the art of skiing. We didn't rent her the proper set up with ski boots and skis, but she managed pretty well on her borrowed Kaboom skis. She loved riding the magic carpet up to the top of the bunny hill and did a great job balancing and staying upright on the way down. After a few runs, we ended the day in the lodge with some hot cocoa and french fries.

Our Christmas Story

This year we celebrated Christmas twice- first in Oregon with the McHughs and then in Reno with the Rentschs. What a treat for Addie because she now loves to open presents and get "new" things! Both families spoiled all of us with wonderful gifts- most of which we are anxious to put to use once we get settled in a place of our own. On Christmas Eve, Addie and I made gingerbread cookies for Santa and left out two of them for Santa along with milk and some carrots for the reindeer. Addie was so excited to see that Santa and the reindeer had munched on their goodies. She also was excited to see the gifts that Santa had left for her. Addie asked for an Appaloosa horse, but unfortunately Santa wasn't able to make that dream come true! Instead, she was happy to play with her Play Doh factory on her new table. We are so thankful that we were able to see so many of our family and friends this holiday season.
