RNO

The kids and I spent a week in Reno and lake Almanor about a month ago. Unfortunately, Ryan wasn't able to come with us because he was in NYC for work training. We crammed a lot in this trip. We went to the Nevada Discovery Museum with Sherril, Dustin, and Joaquin. It was sensory overload for the kids, but they loved it! Caden was the perfect age for all the wonderful exploration stations. He got to touch everything, draw on windows, pretend to build a house, climb up things, ride on things, sit in an airplane...every toddler's dream come true!

We also made a day trip to Virginia city with Grandma Cindy. I haven't been up there for at least 10 years and the kids have never been. They went on their first train ride and Addie even managed to find a horse to sit on and pet!

It brought back a lot of memories being in Virginia city and wondering in all the interesting stores and restaurants.
My friend, Cameron, had a baby shower that we were happy to be able to attend. Unfortunately, Caden was having a really rough day and didn't want me to put him down so I didn't get any photos of Cameron and her belly. We can't wait to meet baby Iacona during Christmas time.
Then we were off to Lake Almanor for the Wolden family reunion. This year the whole family wasn't able to attend, but we made the most of our time together. We missed matt, Kate, and jen...it wasn't the same with out them! We surprised my mom with a 60th birthday party and thanks to Uncle Chris and Aunt Shari it was hilarious! Grandma Cindy was given the 60 year old survival kit complete with a walker, depends, dentures, reading glasses, and an identification badge in case she gets lost! We put together a slide show with photographs from the last 60 years of her life. It was really special for us all to reminisce on all the good times in her life and ours!
We spent the days out in the boats and riding on the jet skis. Addie and Caden loved everything about Almanor and can't wait until next summer when we can go back again.

Addie is one lucky girl....she even got to go on a pony ride at the Plumas Pine Stable about 5 minutes from my parent's house!

We had so much hanging out with all our family! Can't wait until the reunion next year! We love you all!

Two wheels

Ryan took off the training wheels on Addie's bike, which she never used, and within a few minutes she took off! We are so proud of her and she was pretty excited to be riding a bike!

Not only did we move in to a new house, but I also started working at Deschutes River Montessori School (addie's school). Caden was not thrilled to be separated from Addie and me, especially since he could see and hear me. Poor guy cried for 3 days straight when at school, but now he is settling in and really starting to like his teachers and friends. I can already see some of the Montessori ways rubbing off on him too! I am teaching Addie's class this summer, which is really fun to be back in the teaching position again.

Knoxville Boulevard

We are home owners again! On July 3rd at 4pm we finally got the keys to our new house! It was a long time coming, but well worth the wait! We had to live with all of our belongings in a Uhaul truck for a few days and bunk at a friend's house while we waited semi-patiently for the final documents to come in. Thanks to the awesome crew of movers we hired, the Uhaul was unloaded in 4 hours and we were overwhelmed by the amount of "things" we possess! My mom and I worked on the kitchen first, while Ryan and the kids were sound asleep. After a few days, we were settled in and getting used to our new house and location. We love being able to walk or bike downtown, to restaurants, and breweries. We are close to parks, the river, and several schools. We hope to be in this house on Knoxville Boulevard for many many years to come!

Tiny dancers

Addie had her first ballet recital on June 22nd at Tower Theatre in downtown Bend. She danced to "rubber duckie" along with 25 other adorable 3 and 4-year olds. I was holding back tears the whole performance because I didn't want to miss any of it! It was comical yet sad at the same time. As to be expected, no one was dancing in sync and some weren't dancing at all. Addie did a great job considering she missed the last two weeks of practice as well as the rehearsal. We are so proud of her for being brave enough to perform on stage in front of hundreds of people! Addie said her favorite part was wearing make up and her beautiful dress...go figure!
