Beauty Shop

Addie's newest passion is "beauty shop" aka Addie's make-over. She has a basket of beauty supplies that she would take everywhere with her if allowed. Anytime some one comes to our house she ropes them in to being a beauty shop client. Her beauty shop entails: lotion, hair brushing, hair clips, bracelets, rings, lipstick (4 kinds), and a photo. She takes a before and after photo of all her clients!! Here are some of the funniest (remember she is taking these photos with her camera).

I have to add that Ryan is such a good sport. He goes along with it and let's her do her magic on him! Best Daddy ever!

Happy Birthday

I am a bit behind on my posts, but I wanted to comment on Ryan's birthday. Unfortunately, Addie was really sick on his birthday so we couldn't do anything super special for him. He ate lunch by himself, went to work, and picked up a cake mix on his way home! Not being able to leave the house made it tricky for me to get the supplies to make a special dinner or cake. Instead, we found some streamers to throw up around the house and tie around Caden! It was special just being together.

I threw Ryan a surprise birthday party a few days later and about 20 of our friends came out for the fun! Ryan was surprised and we enjoyed the time with our friends without children!! Happy Birthday, Ryan! We love you!

Top Ten of Twenty Eleven

On New Years Eve, we compiled a list of our favorites memories from 2011. With Addie as our helper, this is what we came up with:

1. Ryan started his career as a Financial Advisor with UBS
2. Moved from Sisters to Bend
3. Welcomed Caden Ryan McHugh in to our family
4. Addie started Montessori school
5. Addie was a flower girl in two weddings
6. Spent time on the Oregon Coast
7. Went to two Zoos- SF and SD
8. Heidi turned 30 and celebrated with friends from Idaho (Matt and Leah, Ben and Lauren)
9. Christmas in San Diego
10.Spent a week in Reno with Katelyn, Hannah and Will

Happy 2012 everyone!!

Just remembered that Uncle Dan came to visit us for Easter with Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bill- that would make the list too!

This year we met my parents and Uncle Dan in San Diego for a week of fun in the sun around the holidays! We rented a house that was centrally located and perfect for the whole family. The weather was amazing- highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s! What a treat to get out of the cold for a week. We tried to pack in as much as possible each day on top of celebrating Christmas and Grandpa Bill's birthday. Some of our excursions included: visit to Coronado, San Diego Zoo on Christmas, tour of the USS Midway Ship, PB sunset and drinks, Mission Beach rides and beach time, La Jolla beach time, shopping and lots of dining. This was Caden's first time on a sunny beach and he loved it! He was laughing, screaming, crawling and eating the sand! Addie enjoyed chasing the waves and playing in the sand. Ryan rented a stand up paddle board and gave it a go. He said it was much more difficult to maintain balance in the ocean than on the Deschutes River.






Christmas was awesome this year (as always)because Addie was really in to it all. She was so excited for Santa to come and enjoyed watching him fly around the world towards San Diego on the Santa Cam. Caden's goal in life is to walk. I had to buy him a walker so he could push it around the boardwalks, beach, and house. It was so cute to see him cruising the boardwalk with all the other people.











We enjoyed spending time with family and visiting some friends in San Diego. Great way to end an already fabulous year for the McHugh family.
